Basel, 24.11.2011 (BAKBASEL) – Ein Thema beschäftigt zurzeit die Politik und Öffentlichkeit besonders intensiv: das Ausmass der öffentlichen Verschuldung. Dabei dreht sich die Diskussion allerdings praktisch ausschliesslich um die kurzfristige Tragfähigkeit der Schulden. Die Finanzpolitik muss jedoch vor allem auch in der langfristigen Perspektive nachhaltig sein. Dies auch deshalb, weil Standorte, deren öffentliche Haushalte nicht nachhaltig geführt werden, weniger attraktiv für Unternehmen sind, müssen sie doch eine zukünftig steigende Steuerbelastung befürchten. Die Schweiz erweist sich im internationalen Vergleich als sehr attraktiver Unternehmensstandort: Eine niedrige Steuerbelastung heute wird kombiniert mit einer nachhaltigen Finanzpolitik. |

Basel, 24.11.2011 (BAKBASEL) – Currently, the minds of politicians as well as the general public are exercised by one topic in particular: the level of public debt. In fact, the discussion is focused almost exclusively on one issue: whether these debts are sustainable in the short term. Fiscal policy, however, has to be sustainable above all in the long term! This is important for companies as well: locations that cannot keep their public finances on a sustainable trajectory are less attractive, because of the risk of a higher tax burden in the future. By international standards, Switzerland is a very attractive location for business thanks to the combination of an already low tax level and a sustainable fiscal policy. |
